Overview

Celebrate Stockton’s Sister Cities from around the world! The program traverses the globe with colorful works from China, Mexico, Italy, Cambodia, Nigeria, Japan, and the Philippines—interspersed with some local Stockton gems. Huge combined choral forces will join the Stockton Symphony for the grand finale with performances by Stockton Chorale, San Joaquin Delta College and the University of the Pacific Choirs.

Beginning at 4:00 pm, this musical celebration will include preconcert entertainment by Ballet Folklorico Raices Mexicanas de Maria Valdovinos, Red Dragon Youth Theater, Khmer Ballet of Stockton plus more! Followed by Maestro Jaffe’s preconcert talk at 5:15 pm, “Celebrating Our Sister Cities” is a musical extravaganza you will definitely want to experience!

  • Stockton’s seven Sister Cities are: Shimizu, Japan (March 9, 1959), Iloilo City, Philippines (August 2, 1965), Empalme, Mexico (September 4, 1973), Foshan, China (April 11,1988), Parma, Italy (January 13, 1998), Battambang, Cambodia (October 19, 2004), Asaba, Nigeria (June 6, 2006).
